We do sell special and antiquated books, etc. to assist our fundraising drive, so stay in tune.  Bookdealers welcomed!

All prices include shipping. When prices are not listed the item is not for sale. The reference texts are only for validating research sources and compiling a bibliography.

Welcome to the Bookstore Page and hopefully this will be a literary experience of a life time. Historically, the Sankofa bookstore was once an integral part of the J.C. Winston Publisher’s Group, whose umbrella included Winston-Derek Publishers and Scythe Publications.

After the 60’s African-American Cultural Revolution and a few decades of the Post Civil Right Movement, the Publishing Group was publishing more than 50 titles annually with a specific number dedicated to the research in Africa and African-American Diaspora Studies.

Eventually at the 60’s, time and events brought about changes in reading habits and cultural interests that devastated the African American book publishing and distribution industry. Fortunately, this publishing Group had some titles with an enjoyable longevity.

As mentioned earlier, a primary Sankofa objective is motivating millennial and generationers not to consider the “Way of all Flesh” but take the high ground and explore hidden treasures with deep contained secrets.

So, if you are becoming that person of intellectual inquisitiveness, the Sankofa House is the right place for you. Our book list is more to inform as to what’s available rather than to sell books. Rare, hard-to-find and out-of-print- books on our list are in stock as a resource bibliography. We are here to advise and document materials for the young and blooming academicians.

Titles that are not priced are generally not for sale unless there is a special circumstance. What we do is encourage scholarly research and compile bibliographies for documentation. Annually, will be announced our antiquated book sale. These will be extremely rare and special items, CD’s, Videos’ and DVD’s. Follow the book page!

Notwithstanding, if by chance, you find a title on our list that provokes your literary ingenuity let us know and it may be possible that we can make an immediate offer. And if not, contact Yusef at Alkebu-Lan Images, www.AlkebuLanImages.com  It is most probable that one of us will be able to supply your needs. Our motto remains, “A Good Book Is Forever.”
